About This Role

Hywin is currently seeking a Director of Business Development to lead the way in introducing us to more business partners and increasing our penetration in the market. This role will be instrumental in Hywin’s growth, and we are looking for a leader who will be strategic and tactical in owning and building this area of our business. You will be directly responsible for generating revenue from external business partners and/or introducer program. You should have experience building introducer program, defining and launching operational processes, and achieving revenue-based targets. The Director of Business Development will be an organizational leader and have incredible impact on Hywin’s growth trajectory. Our ideal candidate has an impressive track record as a leader in sales, business development, or partnerships and a strong enthusiasm for your mission.

Candidate with less experience may be considered as Business Development Manager.


  • Lead and drive the partnership scheme and business development strategies to increase revenue for Hywin
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships with entities who are excited to share in Hywin’s mission and build meaningful, new relationships
  • Manage and grow business relationships with partners to maximize value on all sides
  • Build infrastructure, processes, and best practices to support the work of partnership and business development, including the introduction of tools and systems as needed
  • Set, measure, and reach goals, plans, and KPIs for the partnerships and business development team
  • Represent Hywin externally, generating enthusiasm and new leads at every opportunity


  • Proven business development, marketing and sales experience, with at least 3 years relevant experience in Insurance Brokerage Industry
  • Degree holderor above, relevant licenses are required, ie.: IIQE Paper 1, 3 & 5 are compulsory
  • Adequate product knowledge and selling strategic experience. Familiar with market players’ strengths and weaknesses
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills with good command of written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and English
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills and negotiation skills
  • Candidate with the following conditions or experience are preferred:
    • Candidate with existing partnership resources and/or with an existing consultant / sales team
    • Candidate with experience in dealing with high net-worth clients in the Greater China area
